Thermodynamic Tests

In addition to conducting climatic tests for verifying equipment endurance at specified temperatures, the cooling capacity of HVAC units, heat exchangers, and fans under long-term operation are also tested.

  • Measurement of thermal and cooling capacity, energy consumption, airflow, and other parameters.
  • The aim of testing is to determine the effectiveness of equipment under long-term operation and its energy consumption.
  • Measurement of air characteristics of fans, HVAC units, and cooling units.

Two HVAC test labs are dedicated to measuring thermal and cooling capacity, energy consumption, and airflow as well as various HVAC unit system, heat exchanger, and fan parameters.

The lab allows us to simulate temperature, humidity, and air pressure settings under the equipment’s real operating conditions.

Measurement of characteristics of fans and units – flowrate/pressure (measurement precision of 2%).

Measurement of cooling capacity of units – calculation according to ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 37-2009, (measurement precision of 5%).

An additional two calorimetric chambers are dedicated to testing transportation and stationary refrigeration systems. The aim of this testing is to determine the refrigeration and heating capacity of units on the air side according to precisely specified limit conditions, including extreme temperatures.

WT1 – HVAC Test Lab 1

  • Hot (Ambient) chamber: size 3,6 m x 5,5 m, entrance gates 2,8 m x 4 m,
  • temperature range: +15 °C to +60 °C,
  • airflow range: 50 m3/h to 12000 m3/h,
  • static pressure -400 Pa to +1200 Pa,
  • humidity 20 % to 95 %,
  • maximum cooling capacity 35kW (35 °C hot chamber, 26,7 °C mix chamber, rh 51,4 %),
  • stability of the environment: Temperature ± 0.2 °C (hot room ± 0.5 °C), Static pressure ± 5 Pa, Humidity ± 2 %.

WT2 - HVAC Test Lab 2

  • Hot (Ambient) chamber: size 3,6 m x 6 m, entrance gates 2,8 m x 4 m,
  • temperature range: -20 °C to +60 °C,
  • airflow range: 100 m3/h to 16800 m3/h,
  • static pressure -400 Pa to +1200 Pa,
  • humidity 20 % to 95 %,
  • maximum cooling capacity 45 kW (35 °C hot chamber, 26,7 °C mix chamber, rh 51,4 %),
  • stability of the environment: Temperature ± 0.2 °C (hot chamber ± 0.5 °C), Static pressure ± 5 Pa, Humidity ± 2 %.

TTU1 - Calorimetric Test Lab 1

  • Chamber size: 2,8 (till 6) m x 3,4 m x 3 m, entrance gates 2,5 m x 3 m,
  • temperature range: -35 °C to +60 °C,
  • temperature stability: ± 0,3 °C,
  • measurement of cooling capacity up to 26 kW, measurement of condensing capacity up to 50 kW.

TTU2 - Calorimetric Test Lab 2

  • Chamber size : 4,2 (till 9) m x 3,1m x 3 m, entrance gates 2,5 x 3 m,
  • temperature range: -35 °C to +60 °C,
  • temperature stability: ± 0,3 °C
  • measurement of heating capacity up to 7 kW, measurement of cooling capacity up to 26 kW, measurement of condensing capacity up to 50 kW.
